Why Do Small Groups?

We meet weekly in small groups that we call Lifegroups. The reason is simple: we believe that there’s no better way for the church to be reproduced than through discipleship, and we believe small groups are the best context for genuine discipleship to take place. For us, small groups are more than a passing thought, they are the foundation of all that we do. We believe that Lifegroups are the very best context for people to have authentic, vulnerable relationships, they are a great place for leadership and gifting to be drawn out of people, and they provide the perfect setting – intimate & homey – for people to make a connection with our community.

What Does A Lifegroup Look Like?

Lifegroups meet in homes around the city. We want our time together to be focused on the same things that the early church prioritized. Lifegroups spend their time enjoying one another’s company, eating food together, worshiping & discussing God, meeting one another’s needs, and reaching out to the world around them. There a Lifegroup here where you find life & friendship!

Current Groups

Lifegroups are available in different areas of Knoxville on different nights of the week. Our heart is to have Lifegroups meeting in different neighborhoods all over our city. Some Lifegroups are focused on college students while others are more condusive to families with children.

Encountering God in a moment by moment friendship with Jesus.

We believe that experiencing the love of God is the foundation of life. As we encounter Him we find forgiveness, healing, and freedom. Our main goal is to let Him love us; and our response is to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We seek to live in His presence continually through worship, prayer, and reading His Word.

Living in a community of authentic life and transformation.

Discipleship relationships are the most vital building blocks of our church. It’s here that we are free to take off our masks and get honest with one another. We are learning to obey Jesus from the heart by living (heaven-down, inside, out) together. As a community we gather weekly from house to house in what we call LifeGroups; encouraging, serving, and meeting each other’s needs. We are disciples making disciples.

(out) Proclaiming the gospel

Advancing the Kingdom from Knox to the nations.

We are a people who take risks with the gospel using our mouths and our hands; radically loving the world in Jesus’ name. The Holy Spirit empowers us to be His bold witnesses in our neighborhoods and to the ends of the earth. Through short-term trips, missions training, and sending out long term teams we are becoming an epicenter of church-planting like ancient Antioch. We are a movement of Jesus-loving churches.
